What is local area network

When two or more than two devices or computers or laptops are connected together they form a network. Local area network is a private network that operates within a building or Home or Office etc. Local area networks are widely used for sharing resources (Printer) or information among devices or computers which are connected in the network.

When local area networks are used by companies then are called enterprise network. Wireless LANs are very popular these days, especially in homes, older office buildings, cafeterias, and other places where it is too much trouble to install cables. In wireless Local area network router plays an important role. Each computer or device or mobile can connect to the router using WiFi. Each computer or device can also connect to the router using an Ethernet cable. Once they connect to the router then they can share resources and information with each other.
